The W.H. Stark House Lecture Series presents Glenn Schroeter

Landscaping is the topic of the next installment of The W.H. Stark House Lecture Series, part of the “Orange in Bloom” spring events in Orange, Texas. Glenn Schroeter of the Antique Rose Emporium will present A New Look at Old Roses on April 12 at 1 p.m. The lecture will be held free of charge at the Lutcher Theater, located at 707 Main Avenue in Orange, Texas.

Schroeter’s A New Look at Old Roses is an examination of antique roses and their heartiness. Visitors will also have a chance to win an antique rose during Schroeter’s lecture.

Schroeter is the Production Manager at Antique Rose Emporium in Brenham, Texas, where he oversees the seven-acre growing fields. Each growing season, he directs the propagation of more than 400 varieties of old garden roses.

Following the lecture, a reception will be held in the Carriage House, located behind The W.H. Stark House at 610 Main Avenue, Orange, Texas.

In addition to the reception on April 12, the gardens, planted in a cottage style with a variety of “vintage” flowers, including roses, azaleas, and cannas, and the first floor of the Stark House will also be open for visitors at no charge until 4 p.m.
